MYOFASCIAL RELEASE THERAPY
"This is not alternative healing. It's authentic healing.”
—John F. Barnes
Where conventional treatments such as physical therapy, massage, and pain medications may have failed or provided only temporary relief, myofascial release heals the root cause of symptoms and suffering— bringing lasting changes to the body, a greater sense of self-awareness, reduction of pain, and more freedom of movement.
The John F. Barnes’ Approach to Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) treats fascial and connective tissue restrictions that can cause symptoms including but not limited to:
neck and back pain
sleep disorders
TMJ
joint pain
headaches
carpal tunnel
insomnia
depression
anxietY
ADHD symptoms
WHAT IS FASCIA?
Fascia is a densely woven spiderweb-like matrix of connective tissue that surrounds and penetrates every single structure in your body, including muscle, bone, organs, nerves, and arteries. It is one giant body structure that interconnects all of your parts- which is why an imbalance in one part of your body will contribute to symptoms in other parts of your body.
Healthy fascia is fluid and pliable and responsive. But stress, trauma, injury, inflammation, surgery, and scarring causes the fascia to become tight, restricted, and a source of tension to the rest of the body- showing up in the chronic physical and emotional symptoms you are experiencing.
sessions
MFR Sessions begin with a brief visual assessment of physical imbalances before the client lies on the massage table, minimally clothed, to receive the work. There is no oil or lotion involved as deep sustained pressure is applied to the body. Clients can expect to drop into a restorative state of relaxation while experiencing a range of sensations throughout their bodies as the fascial system begins to shift and reorganize. This results in a greater sense of self-awareness, reduction of pain, and more freedom of movement.
Where conventional treatments may have failed or provided only temporary relief, MFR brings lasting changes to the body and eliminates the cause of symptoms at the source. This eventually liberates the client from needing infinite regular treatments to feel better.
I have known Robin for many years and to this day consider her one of the best bodywork practitioners I have ever experienced. Being a bodyworker myself, I am quite picky when it comes to receiving care. Her sessions are truly transformative and the benefits stay with you well beyond the actual session time. An extra “bonus “ to her excellent care, is the wealth and depth of knowledge and information she has in her field of work- which she readily shares with much generosity.
