INFANTS AND CHILDREN
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
—Frederick Douglass
Breathing Room is a family-centered practice that seeks to creatively and resourcefully meet the varied needs of parents and their children. All treatment modalities are adapted and customized to accommodate the unique needs of each member of the household, regardless of age or special needs. Families facing complex diagnoses (including PANS/PANDAS, Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, or other mental/physical health circumstances) will be met with patience, compassion, and unyielding support.
TREATMENT FOR INFANTS
Myofascial Release treatments for infants can begin as early as the moment of birth. Research shows that touch therapy helps babies sleep better and longer, prevents and alleviates gas, bloating, digestive distress, and colic, while also supporting overall growth and development. MFR can help babies and moms overcome breastfeeding difficulties, and it calms fussy, sensory-sensitive, and high-need babies.
Robin also teaches massage and touch techniques to parents, empowering them to connect with and support their children of all ages. It is easy to learn and easy to use on an everyday basis. When parents touch children in a nurturing and therapeutic way, bonding is enhanced and communication channels are opened.
TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Myofascial Release, Somatic Experiencing, yoga, and health coaching will help older children and teens to cultivate body awareness, self-confidence, and the ability to understand and express themselves in a healthy and productive way. Sessions can be especially valuable for those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, learning challenges, sleep disorders, distorted body image issues, and emotional difficulties.

Children with special needs
Robin works closely with families to customize and adapt sessions so that all children can benefit from treatment. Sessions can include MFR, Somatic Experiencing, Yoga, and/ or health coaching.
Robin is resourceful, creative, and determined to include your children. She always modifies treatments so that children will feel safe, seen, and held. And she always meets them with patience and calm—never rushing or forcing them to receive a session before they feel completely ready and in control.

TRAUMA THERAPY FOR SPECIAL NEEDS PARENTS
You are weary. You are afraid. You think that your life will never look or feel any easier- and there are times when you just don’t want to do it all for one more day. You grieve the loss of the healthy child that you had expected to raise, or perhaps once had. Robin knows, from personal experience, the anguish of this special parenting path.
She knows what it is to parent while suffering from PTSD and C-PTSD symptoms. She knows what it means to feel all alone in the fight to protect the most vulnerable of children. She has lived through the exhaustion of having to relentlessly research and advocate in the face of constant opposition and even gaslighting by the medical community, friends, and family. She knows how it feels to have no idea where else to turn for help.
Somatic Experiencing, Myofascial Release, Yoga, and wellness coaching provide the tools that will soothe the symptoms of parenting trauma— even as the worst of circumstances may continue to persist or recur in your home.
Together, we will help you find “pockets of peace” that are always available. We will excavate and find resources that you hadn’t realized you always carry within you- that are always available to you. You will learn what it means to thrive- rather than just survive.
“Robin is incredibly talented at both holding space and bearing witness while also generously giving and supporting.”
I have known Robin for many years and to this day consider her one of the best bodywork practitioners I have ever experienced. Being a bodyworker myself, I am quite picky when it comes to receiving care. Her sessions are truly transformative and the benefits stay with you well beyond the actual session time. An extra “bonus “ to her excellent care, is the wealth and depth of knowledge and information she has in her field of work- which she readily shares with much generosity.
